ESSW walks

In September we held our first sponsored walk in aid of English Springer Spaniel Welfare, here in Cornwall.

The sun shone and a great walk was had by all, we lost count of the number of springers, but all had fun sniffing out the smallest of puddles to lie in, one of life’s great missions for a springer.

The none springers were inducted as honorary springers and were quickly shown the ropes.

After the walk we all had tea and cakes at the Hurlers Halt Tea rooms, Cornwall’s highest Tea room.

Our thanks to every one who turned out and helped to raise a very respectful amount of nearly £300.00

Well done every one and thank you all so much for your efforts.

December 27th saw our second walk at Minions, Bodmin, a chance to walk off the excess’s of Christmas and for the Springers to burn off  excess energy.

Again we were lucky with the weather, the day was cold but the sun shone, the cold didn’t put off the walkers or dogs, the dogs in particular enjoyed a cold swim, I don’t think their owners enjoyed being showered with icy water as they came out though.

After the walk we adjourned to the Hurlers Halt Tea rooms for a well needed hot chocolate, complete with real cream and a flake.
